چکیده
Abstract Background Recent population outbreaks of citrus brown mite, Eutetranychus orientalis (Klein) (Acari: Tetranychidae), were observed in the Çukurova region, a region that supplies approximately 80% total production Turkey. Therefore, to obtain preliminary data, regarding biological control this pest, functional and numerical responses two commonly found predatory mites, Amblyseius swirskii Athias-Henriot Euseius scutalis (Athias-Henriot) (Phytoseiidae) orchards, egg protonymph stages E. determined under laboratory conditions. Results In experiments, six different prey densities (1, 5, 10, 20, 40 80) for each selected stage provided mite 24 h. According results, proportion consumed by A . decreased with increasing densities. Similarly, consumption E densities, but predator showed no discernible response A. exhibited type II both stages, whereas only prey. The prey preference of polyphagous predators plays an important role in suppressing different species of pest insects. In this study the prey preference of the predatory mite, Amblyseius swirskii (Athias-Henriot) (Acari: Phytoseiidae) was examined between nymphs of the twospotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Tetranychidae) and first instar larvae of the western flower thrips, F...

Life table of Tetranychus urticae and Phytoseiulus persimilis on bean leaflets were studied under laboratory conditions in three seasons. For T. urticae the development time from egg to adult varied from 7 to 24 days and the highest immature mortality was 78.70 % in winter. Eggs laid by females were 88.1 eggs in autumn and 70.6 eggs in summer season. The gross reproductive rate (GRR) was the hi...

Two new species, Neoseiulus elisiensis n. sp. and Neoseiulus neomarginatus n. sp., are described from Greece. Neoseiulus leucophaeus (Athias-Henriot) is re-described and illustrated based on specimens collected on Thymelaea hirsuta (L.) Endl. A key to all species of the genus Neoseiulus Hughes reported from Greece is provided.

Aponychus corpuzae is a pest of bamboo in Fujian, China. The predatory mite Amblyseius longispinosus was explored as a potential biocontrol agent against Ap. corpuzae in a series of experiments on its predation on Ap. corpuzae . The rate of prey consumption (per predator female) increased linearly with temperature from 1.35 at 15°C to 5.22 at 35°C (the relationship can be described by Y = -1.00...
